Buying a home? Is it easy? Hard? What do I need to do, you ask.

Here are 10 things that you will have to do to purchase a home. So, without further ado.

  1. You will need to gather financial information on yourself and whomever is going to be on a loan with you (unless you are paying with cash).
  2. You will need to determine what factors you home will need to have; How many bedrooms, in a city or the country, school district.........
  3. Where are you going to apply for a loan?
  4. Get a pre-qualification letter. Many home owners will not consider an offer if it does not include a pre-qualification letter.
  5. Figure out amount of a loan, insurance and taxes you are willing to pay each month.
  6. Find out if the home you purchase will need appliances that you currently do not own.
  7. Get inspections on the home such as structural, wood destroying organisms, or septic if it has one.
  8. Find what companies you will need to contract with for Trash, Water, Electricity, etc. AND have the up front costs they will require.
  9. Have money for a down payment, depending on the loan type;VA, FHA, Conventional
  10. Have money for closing.

These are things that most people are not aware of on their first home purchase. Scary? Maybe, but I am here to help you through these things to get you to the finish line on the closing table.
